The spinit® cartridge contains all the required reagents to perform a test, and uses only a drop of blood from the patient. When placed in the spinit® reader, the cartridge will spin to predetermined velocities, and the resulting centrifugal force in the microfluidic structures of the cartridge will perform the necessary fluid handling operations.
Biosurfit's microfluidic R&D has resulted in several patented technologies to enable complex fluid management in a compact disc format. These technologies were combined with standard compact disc production techniques from our industrial partners to develop the spinit® cartridge, a disposable self-contained cartridge for the spinit® reader.
