Conventional clinical laboratory testing is rapidly trying to adapt to the increasing demand by doctors for faster more comprehensive clinical diagnostic results that will allow for quicker and more effective patient treatment. A standard lab test will typically take several hours or days before it delivers these results to the doctor and ultimately, the patient. The evident need to lower healthcare costs, provide access to more accurate clinical decisions and faster patient treatment are all drivers for a new concept in the clinical diagnostics sector.
With this in mind, Biosurfit developed spinit®, a proprietary technological platform for the Point of Care Testing (POCT) market. Our goal is to deliver results in a matter of minutes translating into faster, more accurate clinical diagnosis and improved patient care. Our solution is a user-friendly reader, that uses one small drop of blood and gives precise results within 15 min for multi-parameter test panels. Our platform will soon have the potential to perform the vast majority of blood tests. We will continuously develop different cartridge tests for the spinit® platform, addressing the physicians needs. The spinit® reader will be available in the market in mid 2010.
